Flying and Playing a bit of a ramble...

This is really where you start to explore and bend the moves.
It is all well to say this is a block, that a parry , that a strike but do you know what the moves are doing to you?
What is is pumping? Where is the blood? Which muscles are you opening and which are you closing?

Can you pump the source of the force from ankles, knees, hips, waist, shoulders?

Where is the power coming from?
Where is the whip, and the tension?
Can you get this feeling when you are static - and then mould it back into the constraints of a basic San Jan?

Where does the move start and finish? Does it start and end at all or is it all part of one long breath?
Funny faces, and flashes of force in the shadows.

well I did say it was a bit of a ramble!
The problem is my lack of words.

Have a look at the flying and advanced playing mpegs - the big ones are quite large but they are also at a higher frame rate as the lower frame rate loses the details.
The feeling of these ideas is quite difficult to get to even with the simple moves.
I have given an example just of one of the simplest 1 hand combination and where you can take it ( or it take you ).
When we try to embody them in a form or in a drill set it gets harder.

To get this feeling in a large movement is easier than in a small movement. That is why we go back to San Jan because in this context it is the most advanced form

Kicks? don't even try to go there and to take the feeling with you.
If you can then please please please get in contact and I'll come and see you!.......(may be break dancing has the answers? )

If you have got this far I hope you have enjoyed the site.
If any of what I am talking about rings a bell then get in contact and say hi.
I am looking for live practising cranes (an elusive species!). It all starts with saying hello with an mpeg.
Yes - not of some dead master who I can never meet and talk to but YOU! you beautiful little martial monkey!!!! - or if you are a big old martial ape I still mean you!!!

Best Wishes,
